I have the tendency to live my life with the future in mind. Some say that it is a good thing to think of your future, but if taken to extremes it can be crippling. I catch my self talking too fast, in a rush to get done with now so that I can have the later. I decide that I should "stop and smell the roses". I sniff a few but then quickly resume my place in day dreaming. As I turn to leave I realize that nothing has changed. I don't respect life anymore than before. What is wrong? I have failed to realize that its not about "smelling the roses" its about watching the efflorescence of life. In other words: just enjoying the moment because you know that this will never happen again. Life changes and we should enjoy the change instead of wishing the rose would just bloom already. Miley Cyrus said it best "Its the climb!" I heard this song on the radio a few days ago and it kinda changed my life. Thanks Trace Adkins.
